VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG R HYBRID AND PLUG-IN

The Germans once again took up the task of pacifying the Tuareg, and, as in previous attempts, a rather unconventional approach was chosen. The model just presented is the first in the history of the Touareg R, but not the first attempt to sell an updated version of Volkswagen's flagship SUV. The first generation was available in a (initially) limited version with a 450 HP 6-liter W12 engine. in addition, the Germans also offered the R50 variant, equipped with a 351 HP V10 5.0 TDI diesel. The second generation, though lacking in power, was limited to V8 units, and none of them were seen as contented. But the plug-in hybrid was available, with 380 HP, which put it in first place in power, although not in performance.

In the case of the Touareg just introduced, the R can be similar. The car uses a hybrid system known as the Porsche Cayenne and Panamera. The 3-liter supercharged unit generates 340 HP, and in combination with the electric motor, we have 462 HP and 700 Nm of maximum torque. This surpasses, admittedly, the most powerful version currently available, that is, the V8 diesel, but only partially. The TDI offers 422 HP and a whopping 900 Nm.
Volkswagen did not praise the performance of the Touareg R, which should accelerate to 100 km / h in "about" 5 seconds (it takes exactly 5 seconds for two Porsche Cayenne E-hybrids). The 4-liter diesel develops 100 km / h in 4.9 s. the Maximum speed was limited to 250 km / h.the drive, as in all Tuaregs, is transmitted via an 8-speed automatic transmission, to all wheels. The manufacturer also emphasizes that the car is able to pull a trailer weighing up to 3.5 tons.http://fiatforum.lv/http://fiatforum.lv/
