GENESIS G80 WILL COMPETE with the GRANDEES
The new Genesis sedan measures 4995 mm in length, 1925 mm in width and 1465 mm in height, so it has dimensions almost identical to its predecessor (only the width is noticeably larger). A significant wheelbase of 3,010 mm remained unchanged.
One of the leitmotives of the body style is the double belts. This form has front and rear lights and even moldings on the front fenders with double turn indicators. The G80 also draws attention with its heavily sloping roof line and rear fenders that are much wider than the top of the body. Genesis clearly wanted to liken its limousine to a so-called four-door coupe. Typical of the brand is a huge grill, which, if not for the recess at the bottom, which, according to illusions, would resemble Bentley grills, just as the Genesis brand is oddly similar to the British brand.
The third generation Genesis G80 is based on a new platform, and about 19 percent of the body is made of aluminum. Among other things, this is why it was possible to reduce its own weight by 110 kg compared to its predecessor, despite the use of more sound-proofing materials. This is good news, especially because we will no longer find the V8 version in the lineup. The choice is a four-cylinder 2.5-liter supercharged 304 HP and a 3.5-liter V6 with 380 HP. Economical drivers will still be able to choose the 2.2 CRDi 210 HP diesel.
